Members of the Volusion team recently attended WWDMAGIC, a fashion tradeshow connecting buyers and designers, in Las Vegas. After meeting with budding artists, ecommerce novices and some current clients, the team walked away with some interesting new insights.
Fashion and shopping cart software are like peanut butter and jelly – you can have them separately, but they’re so much better together.
That may sound like a stretch, but after our team attended the fashion tradeshow of WWDMAGIC, we showed several people why it’s true.
Held in Las Vegas February 14-17, WWDMAGIC is an event totally dedicated to the latest trends in women’s fashion. From juniors to couture, designers arrived en masse to show off their styles to eager buyers. The event swallowed the entirety of the Las Vegas Convention Center, and thousands of people filled the aisles.
So…what were a bunch of software nerds doing at a high-fashion event?
Besides sticking out in our “less-than-GQ” polos, we were spreading the word about the glory of selling online. Quite surprisingly, the majority of designers had no online presence, much less the ability to sell their fashions over the internet. But after speaking to hundreds of budding entrepreneurs, they quickly realized the importance of launching their online business.
We also had the great opportunity to speak to several customers who are already booming with our shopping cart software. Special shout out to Repeat Possessions, LiftKits, E-Bogu and OmegaTrendz for stopping by!
