Volusion Nears Launch of New Partners Program


Volusion is swiftly working on finalizing its newest partners program, the Volusion Partner Network. The network consists of four different types of partnerships, all meant to maximize collaborators’ profits while providing a superior experience for our ecommerce clients.


Here at Volusion, we’ve always known that truly great companies need truly great partnerships. Collaboration and alliances allow multiple parties to focus on what they do best while collectively enhancing the overall ecommerce experience of our clients.

Additionally, it’s an exciting time to get in the ecommerce game. Last year, our merchants processed over two billion dollars in transactions using our software. Better yet, revenue from the ecommerce industry as a whole is expected to increase by double digits in the coming years. We’re primed to meet these opportunities as we add more and more stores to our client base and continue to innovate our award-winning shopping cart software.

With this in mind, we’re excited to tell you that we’re in the final stages of launching our new partners program, the Volusion Partner Network. Based on strong demand from leaders across the industry, we’re tying up the last strings and wanted to share some of the details.


As an overview, interested organizations can work with the Volusion Partner Network in any of four capacities:

  • Strategic Partners: Large partners with the ability to greatly grow the Volusion customer base
  • Solutions Partners: Partners who enhance and extend the Volusion product and platform
  • Agency Partners: Firms/Individuals who design, develop and implement services for Volusion customers
  • Affiliate Partners: Partners who drive site traffic and provide referrals to open an online store with Volusion


Strategic Partners

Strategic Partners within the Volusion Partner Network are organizations with a strong presence that can help us grow our client list while bettering the overall Volusion experience. Additionally, Strategic Partners receive the opportunity to extend their business to thousands of our online storeowners. Each of these partnerships is uniquely designed on a case by case basis to ensure both parties are fully satisfied with the relationship and our customers receive the most value.


Solutions Partners

Solutions Partners within the Volusion Partner Network have the ability to enhance and extend the Volusion product and overall platform. These additions could include a breakthrough feature, a complementary add-on, or a value-adding integration to further promote the online success of our customers. For example, Wishpot provides a gift registry integration for our latest software release and Shipwire provides innovative shipping solutions to our customers. Terms of these partnerships are also uniquely created for specific business needs.


Agency Partners

Agency Partners within the Volusion Partner Network provide Internet design, marketing and development services to their customers while using our ecommerce solution. This is ultimately a revamped version of our Reseller program, with some additional enhancements. In an effort to provide more flexibility to our Agency Partners, there are two types of partnership:

  • Value Added Resellers (VARs): VARs handle the entire ecommerce experience for their customers, including: placing clients on our platform, providing specialized services, and billing/supporting clients. Since there is more work involved as a VAR, the compensation structure is more lucrative.
  • Referral Partners: Referral partners, on the other hand, simply send us potential customers and provide an additional service. These partners are responsible for completing a lead form to send clients directly to our team. We’ll bill and support these clients every step of the way – all Referral Partners need to do is focus on offering their value-added services to their customers.

Both of these partnerships receive ongoing revenue based on the number of stores referred. There are four levels available, all based on how many clients sign up to open their online business on our platform.


Affiliate Partners

Affiliate Partners within the Volusion Partner Network encourage others to sell online with our shopping cart software. Becoming an affiliate is one of the easiest and most convenient ways to partner with Volusion. Each time an affiliate’s reference leads to the purchase of a store package, a generous commission is provided for that referral. And of course, as the number of converted stores increases, the affiliate’s payout will grow as well, up to 50% growth.

This partnership is handled through a standard application via Commission Junction, which also provides convenient maintenance for our Affiliate Partners.
