Earlier this month, the Volusion team sponsored and participated in a fan-favorite Austin charity event, JB and Sandy’s Bikes for Kids Golf Classic. Check out the recap below to see how we’re giving back to the community.
Volusion recently had another chance to practice one of our Core Values of “Rocking the Golden Rule” at the 15th annual JB and Sandy Bikes for Kids Golf Classic. As a presenting sponsor, we got to participate in the event and help raise money to purchase bicycles for children.
Bikes for Kids was started in 1996 by JB & Sandy of the JB & Sandy Morning Show, a popular Austin radio program. They have always felt that every child should experience the feeling of getting a brand new bike, bike lock and helmet for the holidays. When the promotion began, it took on a grassroots approach with JB and Sandy running the entire promotion and giving away 100 bikes. Thanks to their constant dedication, the event has become one of Austin’s most recognized promotions, and over the past 15 years, the program has donated over 11,000 bikes and more than $1 million.
This year’s tournament raised $23,065 for the charity, which equals approximately 230 bikes for kids in Austin. We’re honored to be a part of this great event, and look forward to future events as part of The Volusion Foundation’s mission to give back.
