Giving Back – The Reason for the Season

Over the past few weeks, our two offices came together to sponsor several families in need this holiday season. Each team received $200 per family, with five adopted families in Simi Valley and six in Austin. The goal was to send each family some holiday cheer by giving gifts to the kids and providing the necessities for a great meal.

And get in the holiday spirit we did. After office hours our teams came together to head to the stores for some charitable retail therapy. Based on the needs given by the family head of household, the teams picked up toys and clothes for the children. Once that was taken care of, everyone went to the grocery store to stock up on food supplies. Check out some of the grocery store action below:

Once the teams were checked out and ready to go, our Volusion elves went to work by wrapping the gifts and getting everything prepped to send to the families. Justin Manning, an Enterprise Consultant here, had the chance to play Santa and make the delivery for his team. Here’s what he had to say:

“It’s always a special experience to be able to deliver the gifts to the families that we help sponsor for the holiday season. Playing the role of ‘Santa’s friends’ (as we were called by our family) gave all of us a very humbling and rewarding trip and we would like to wish everyone a very happy holiday season!”

Here at Volusion we always hope to spread goodness to others, whether it is our “Stores to Change the World” program or our partnership with We wish you the happiest of holidays and the best of luck in 2010!

    Thanks for the posting.
I love these types of gatherings. When I lived in the northeast we’d do a blanket drive and on Christmas Eve we’d deliver blankets to the homeless on the streets.
