As we continue to grow our business, we continue to grow our contributions to the community. Read on to learn more about this Austin-flavored event to help fight cancer.
Part of our mission has always been to give back to the community. That’s why we formed the Volusion Foundation: to contribute a part of everything we have, including our time, product and revenue. In the spirit of giving back, we recently had an opportunity to sponsor a great local event for a deserving cause.
We’re excited to be a part of Dam That Cancer, the premier fundraising event for The Flatwater Foundation, an Austin-based nonprofit organization that provides access to mental health services for those affected by cancer. Today, standup paddlers will take to Lake Austin to show their commitment in the global fight against cancer. This 8-hour, 21-mile paddle will span the entire length of Lake Austin, from Mansfield Dam to Tom Miller Dam. Each paddler was required to raise over $1,500 for The Flatwater Foundation, which will contribute to the other donations from sponsors and individuals.
After the day of standup paddle boarding, there will be an after party at Hula Hut, a favorite local Austin restaurant, from 5-8pm at the party, attendees will have the opportunity to contribute even more money to the cause by purchasing items from a raffle. In support of one of our customers, we purchased a paddle from Tower Paddles to raffle at the party.
If you’re in the Austin area, come on down – we’d love to see you there!
