Most businesses know that peer-to-peer sharing online changed the way consumers shop. But marketers and business owners tend to focus only on the type of sharing that happens on social platforms, like Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest, and although that can be helpful, it turns out that it can also lead you astray.


While sharing via social media platforms is big, it isn’t the only way consumers share content with each other online. There’s a huge amount of sharing through what the industry is increasingly calling “dark social.” But what is it? And how can you track it?
