If you’re a business owner, it’s likely that you’re also a self-starter. You’ve learned the importance of using the right tools for your store, seeking the latest information about your industry, and finding quick ways to answer your own questions.
In the spirit of generation DIY, we’ve compiled a list of essential self-help resources for Volusion store owners – so read on, and help yourself!
As you build your store, the Dashboard is a great place to view several resources all at once. This is the first page you’ll see when you log in to your store’s Admin Area, but you can also get there by clicking Dashboard from the main navigation menu:
On this page, you’ll see a Get Started Guide with links to essential store-building steps; a list of important Resources including Release Notes and the Knowledge Base; and even an Ecommerce Authority section with links to our blog posts (you’re reading one right now)!
Use the To Do list to create tasks for yourself each day or week:
After you complete a task by selecting the corresponding check box, you’ll see an option to delete it from the list. You can also click Prioritize to change the order of importance for your tasks.
Once your store is established and sales start rolling in, you’ll be able to use the additional Dashboard tools to see a list of your store’s Top 5 Products sold, Top 5 Categories visited, total Orders over time, and Trends. You can select to view this data for the current week, month, or three-month period.
Throughout the Admin Area, you’ll notice small green icons next to most fields and drop-down menus:
These little icons represent Tool Tips: quick, helpful descriptions of each field’s purpose. To view the information behind a tool tip, simply click on the icon. You’ll see a pop-up message with additional information about the functionality for each corresponding field, along with an example or default value:
Whenever you’re in your store’s Admin Area, you’ll also see a Get Help link in the top tool bar. Hover over this link to select Get help with this page, which will show you information that’s specific to the page you’re on:

Our Knowledge BaseBase, also referred to as our support site, is a great resource for anyone who likes to figure things out themselves. Here, you’ll find hundreds of instructional articles, organized by sections that correspond to your store’s Admin Area.
You can browse by section or use the search bar to enter a keyword or search term you’d like to learn more about:
Can’t find what you’re looking for? Click Contact in the upper right corner of the website. This will bring you to a page with various methods for contacting our Support team. Be sure to have your store ID number ready if you contact us by phone!
Our developers are constantly working to improve the Volusion software. Whether we’re fixing bugs or adding new features, you’ll find a description of the most recent changes to the platform on our Release Notes page.
