Volusion Powers More Than 20,000 Online Stores and $2B in Online Transactions, Surpassing eBay’s ProStores

We’ve had one heck of a year. By focusing on product innovation and customer support to boost your online success with our award-winning ecommerce solution, we’ve been able to grow by leaps and bounds and stake our position as a pioneering leader in the ecommerce industry. Funny thing is, we’ve been so busy working that we haven’t had much time to talk about it.

In 2009, customers using our shopping cart software processed more than $2 billion (yes, billion) in transactions. This accounts for more than 1% of all US ecommerce sales! This is no small accomplishment – a special thanks to our customers for driving so many orders. Over the past year, we’ve added over 10,000 new clients, allowing us to proudly serve more than 20,000 active online business owners.

In addition to a blossoming customer base, our company continues to expand. We’ve added more than 20 employees in the last quarter alone and continue to actively hire. There are currently 160 Volusioneers split between our Simi Valley, CA and Austin, TX offices. Since 2005, we’ve experienced astounding revenue growth of 884.5%, ranking Number 16 in the Inc. 500 Software companies for 2009. With all of this movement, we’ve now surpassed behemoth player, eBay’s ProStores, to become the #2 hosted ecommerce solution in the world. As the clear industry leader in customer support and platform scalability, our sights are clearly set on overtaking the throne.

And on top of multiple new service offerings, we just released our newest feature, Volusion mCommerce, to create a mobile-optimized version of your online store.
