Question / Problem: How can I change the number of rows & columns for Featured products on my store's homepage?
Answer / Solution: In order to change the appearence or layout of Featured Products on your store's Home Page, you must do the following:
- Access the Inventory —> Categories section of your store's administration section.
- Click Add (on the blue tab) to create a new category.
- On this newly created category, set the Category Name field to something representing this home page control (e.g., "Featured Products On Home Page").
- Set the Category Visible value for this category to
Home Page (controls home page featured products)
- Next, scroll down to the area of this page labeled
Customizable Product Display
- By changing the Display Columns and Display Rows values here, you can change the number of Featured Products displayed on your store's home page. (You can also change the Product Display Mode as well.) Keep in mind that the number of products displayed on the home page is determined by the number of rows multiplied by the number of columns.
- Be sure to save your changes to this category.
When you refresh your Home Page, it should display the Featured Products using the new layout that you have chosen.
Be aware that if you have more items marked as Featured Products than would fit on the home page, the system automatically rotates through all items each time the home page loads, allowing all of your Featured Products to be shown to the customers as they enter the store.
