Find New and Exciting Features in Your Volusion Store

There are an overwhelming number of ecommerce tools you can purchase to make your store more attractive, feature-rich, or easy to use. While many of these tools and tricks can work wonders for the success of your store, you could be missing some useful features already included in our software.

Here are just a few great tools in your Admin Area:

1. Search Terms: Studies have shown that customers who type the product they want in the internal search bar buy more than customers who simply find it within the site. Volusion's software pulls internal search terms by the product name or product code, but did you know that you can customize your own internal search terms? This is especially good for products that can be easily misspelled or might have another name. To add keywords to a product in your Volusion store, go to the "Advanced" section of a product record and list these terms under "Additional Product Keywords." 2. Financial Reporting: Learn what people are looking at and buying. The "Reports" section of your Volusion Admin Area allows you to see what exact products your customers are purchasing, as well as what categories and products they are viewing. If you'd like to compare multiple reports at once, you can export this data into Excel by clicking "Export These Results" located at the bottom right hand side of your screen.

3. Gross Profit Reports: It's nice to know how much revenue you are pulling in, but are you monitoring your gross profit margin as well? By factoring in your vendor cost, you can calculate exactly how much gross margin you are pulling in. The Vendor Price field is located under "Vendor Information" within each product record in your store. As long as you enter in this field, the "Reports" section of your admin area will calculate how much money your store is making.

4. Live Chat: According to studies, having live chat on your site can reduce cart abandonment by 59.8 percent. Volusion offers a free version of Live Chat as well as a Premium Edition. The Premium Edition of Live Chat allows for more than one operator to be chatting on your site at the same time. It also allows you to monitor exactly what pages your customers are viewing at that time as well as how long they have been on that page. If you see any customers stuck on that checkout page, our Premium Edition allows you to prompt a chat with that customer in hopes of closing the sale. This prompting feature can be used for any customer on any page of your site.
