What Are the Trends This Season? According to ComScore data, the top gaining industries were:
- Video Games, Consoles, and Accessories (134% gain)
- Furniture, Appliances and Equipment (36% gain)
- Consumer Electronics (21% gain)
- Sport and Fitness (20% gain)
- Apparel and Accessories (17% gain)
According to HitWise, the top three searched terms within Shopping and Classified websites were “ipod”, “uggs”, and “wii.”
According to findings from Compete Inc, one of the biggest factors in consumer choice comes from peer-to-peer feedback. This can be exchanged via Customer Reviews, forums, or social networking sites.
More and more wish list sites are showing up on the web. Many of these sites allow the wish list creator to embed their wish list on their MySpace or Facebook pages.
The Best is Yet to Come
Remember, although Black Friday and Cyber Monday are the most notorious holiday shopping days, they are not historically the most lucrative.
