How to create Quantity Discounts:
1) Set the discounts "Name" to "Energizer Batteries Discount"
2) Set the "MinQty" to 2
3) Set the "MaxQty" to 4
4) Set the "Discount Type" to "Percent off a product "
5) Set the "Discount Value" to 5
6) Click "Add + View New Record"
7) Repeat steps 1-6 (changing the MinQty to "5" and the MaxQty
to "10", and the "Discount Value" to 10, for example.)
You must keep them all with the same "Discount Name" since this
is how discounts are grouped.
Then to apply this set of Quantity Discounts to a product, do the following:
1) In the "Products" table, go to edit any product and set the
field "DiscountID" to the any of the DiscountID's in the group.
Because discounts are grouped by the Discount Name, it doesn't matter which
DiscountID you end up choosing from the group.
How to create a coupon:
1) Set the "Coupon Code" to anything you want.
2) Tell your customers what the coupon code is. They will be able to enter
the "Coupon Code" on the shopping cart page during checkout to
trigger the discount.
EXAMPLE: To create a coupon for "$5
off your order"
1) Set the discounts "Name" to "$5 off your order"
2) Set the "Discount Type" to "Per Order"
3) Set the "Discount Value" to 5.
4) Set the "Coupon Code" to (for example, "ABC123")
Please note that coupons cannot be applied to a product. Coupons are only
for store-wide promotions such as the following:
"Save $15 of your order of $100 or more - Expires 9/15/04"
"Save 5% store-wide until 8/30/04!"
